Learn Italian in Ravenna
Come and study the Italian Language in Ravenna, the Mosaic Capital in the World! Ravenna has been a capital city three times: of the Roman Empire, the Gothic Kingdom and the Byzantine Empire. Ravenna is a quiet, tranquil town where the unquestioned king of the road is the bicycle, an ideal place for a relaxing Italian study trip and holiday. Ravenna is a treasure chest of art, history and culture. Enchanting and evocative, it is a rare combination in Italy: world-class art and a few minutes from the Adriatic Riviera, the trendiest holiday and leisure area in Europe.
Italian Language School in Ravenna
The Italian Language school is in the centre of Ravenna, 1km from the train station and right next door to the main bus station. From here you are only 10km from the beaches. Our Italian school has 14 air-conditioned classrooms all with audio-visual equipment, student lounge with coffee and refreshments and free internet access and video library. You can choose between an Intensive Italian course (20 group lessons per week) or a Super Intensive course (20 group and 2 private lessons per week).
Accommodation in Ravenna
Students can choose between staying with an Italian host family providing a single room and half board (breakfast and evening meal) or a fully equipped shared apartment where you will have your own bedroom and share the kitchen, bathrom and living room with other students stauying Italian at the school. All accommodation is within easy walking or cycling distance from the school. Some host families offer en-suite bathroom facilities.
Social and Cultural Activities
After lessons our Italian teachers organise an extensive social and cultural activity programme including watching Italian films, tasting wines, party games (Ravenna is the only town in Italy where the ancient Chinese game of Mahjong is widely played), treasure hunts and a wealth of sports activities at the seaside; guided tours of the town, trips, restaurants and bars; short seminars on Italian culture: art, literature, history, cinema, Italian gestures etc. The films, games and seminars are included in the price, while the trips, dinners out and guided tours are additional expenses.
How to get to Ravenna
There are regular flights from the UK to Bologna. From here you can take the bus or a taxi to the train station and then take the train to Ravenna. The journey time is around 60 minutes. Alternatively the Italian school can arrange a private car transfer.
